Cooking in the Afternoon
I've been thinking about
why you wear so many clothes.
It's not just the apron,
it's the high heels,
and that hair band
that keeps the ringlets
from covering and uncovering
the darkness of your eyes,
so if you'll humor me,
and lose the apron,
release your hair,
and keep the high heels,
I think that your nakedness
will be just about right-
oh, now let's check the oven
and see if that's hot.

In this case the oven is just a metaphor, and the high heeled Hors d'œuvre is what is on the menu...I don't think I'll be starving...why, what is cooking over at your place?

I'd like to eat what you cook. You seem to have a powerful imagination, too powerful if you imagine she will do just what you want. You are a good poet, with straight-talk and expression.
