Have You Seen The Moon?
he asked me if I had anything more to say
before he went to bed so he would be rested for the next day
I asked him have you seen the moon?
how half of it's wrapped in darkness's cocoon?
he laughed and asked me why
I smiled and said simply because the moon was in the sky
I told him good night with just a touch of sorrow
I simply can't wait to talk to him tomorrow
He says he'll always be there
promises that he will always care
he makes me want to cry his words are so sweet because they ring what most lack
the truth and not simply words used so that they might be able to stab you in the back
I'm walking on thin ice hoping it doesn't break
praying his words really are true and not another set of fakes
he has become to important if I were smart I would run away
but oh how I long , how i desire to simply stay
he laughs and asks why
and I tell him simply because tonight the moons in the sky
so take a moment to look at the moon
don't you know the night will be over soon?
before he went to bed so he would be rested for the next day
I asked him have you seen the moon?
how half of it's wrapped in darkness's cocoon?
he laughed and asked me why
I smiled and said simply because the moon was in the sky
