I Was Sent A Rose

Since she has my heart when not near I am frail
Upon entering my life she's my Holy Grail

Diminutive in stature she yet towers over others
My eyes fixed to her sparkling smile
I get lost in a wanted future
And the white dress floating down the aisle

Gives so much of herself to others and yet never complains
Never an award but she will always be my star
My give attention to concerns of the day
Yet in my thoughts she is never that far

Yes it is true there is so much we haven't pondered
I may be rash in confessing my love
But all that we shared so far
Fits so well like a favorite glove

In the end this too may be temporary
Feelings now may pass away
But for now I am basking in the glow
Total slave to what my instincts say
