Hunted Sorrow (collab with fleshofdanny)
In the midnight forest,
a swimming image through the midst,
she slowly revealed herself.
She turns,
shimmering in starlight,
holding tears inside.
He sees her, he feels her heavy heart…
and approaches slowly.
She feels the dark around her,
and wills the light from within.
Softly, he makes himself known to her.
He approaches peacefully and with understanding eyes.
The air is rent with sorrow, and her ally is silence.
She has been forsaken by hope and abandoned by peace.
He throws his weapons to the ground,
and sits upon a fallen tree… and looks at her.
She opens her hand, releasing a glow,
which lifts, grows,
then fades into the whispering shadows.

To me, this is as real as any day in the life of anybody, really.
I don't know about anybody else, but I've done this before. Seen a sad person, felt their pain, and sympathetically become drawn to them, to the point of trying to sit as close to them as possible. To be there for them "in spirit" I suppose.
