Cold Hard

What if
how it works
is not
through compassion
and understanding
but instead
by simply holding
everyone accountable
for their own survival,
and if they fail
to learn
what they need
to know,
instead
of our attempting
to intervene
on their behalf
and work
towards their best interest,
we simply
let them die? �

Maybe that
would be easier
than trying
and then being blamed
or held responsible
because we did
not do enough
to change their minds
or mend their hearts
or bring the proper light
or enough heat? �

I mean,
if you don't get it,
is that my fault? �

Am I to blame
for your ignorance? �

Can I
make you learn? �

Could I ever
satisfy that need
you have
that you ignore
so very often
until too late
and then
you blame it all
on me?

Cold hard life.

RESPONSE IN POETIC FORM

We must become like the Spartans
We must THINK, not FEEL
No drama will be permitted
You will be allowed to fail
Enough with the safety nets
We have put them up in vain
For everything we have done for you
You all remain the same

Draconian measures shall be the rule
No sick persons wanted
Gentle extermination
Will give you all the morphine
You want or need
Will wipe you out subtly

As for children with special needs
They will be treated with genome therapy
Should that not work
We will make them into beings
Much like old fashioned slavery

We have found no cure for mental illness
So we will feed them drugs
That cut the lifespan by two-thirds
Make them into zombie drudges
Working in the sewers
Where we do not have to see them

As for the rest of you
No health care if you smoked
Took drugs, ate carelessly
If you have pain
As mentioned above
We can take care of you painlessly

Finally remember DNA is EVERYTHING
Every person shall be profiled
If you meet the criteria
You will have quality of life
If you do not, you will disappear
Oh no, no concentration camps
No nastiness, it does not look right
Just step into this lead cast room
We will nuke you after we made you high

This sounds like we are cold-hearted
But we really are not
This is much more efficient for society
Than what we got
Please do not think of it as Hitlerian
We call ourselves the LIBERATIONISTS
Another chance for the earth
To get more "living space"
All the while grooming
A superior human race.
