Your England
You walk out of a house
It is emblazoned with a flag
St Georges red cross on shimmering Rayon
(Even though the Euro's finished weeks ago)
You were waved off by a girl
dressed in the latest from JD Sports
Hoop earrings the size of Frisbees
A fag coquettishly stuck to a dry cracked lip
Snotty crying child perched on her hip
You are proud to be 'English' - or so you say
Yet, when your 'trophy dog' shits a steamer
Do you stoop to pick it up? Do you fuck!
Your walk punctuated by regular gob-lets of phlegm
snorted up through your nose and onto the street
Defiling the very place you say you are proud of
You toss an empty fag packet on the floor
Plenty more where that came from come 'pay day'
But you have never worked a day in your life
Not your fault - you slipped through the net
The system somehow failed you
Proud you are also of your flat screen TV
Liberated from Curry's in the summer riots
On which you watch Jeremy Kyle and 'No Win No Fee' ads
The 'get rich scheme' for the young unemployed
God forbid you would watch BBC4 or the Arts Channel!
Everything is black and white in your World!
Literally it seems! The reason for this country's decline
is its liberal immigration policy. Your opinion but words are mine!
"Too many Rumanians [sic] taking our jobs"
"Too many Rag Heads on the streets", you say
Yet you speak with a fake patois?
You say you are proud to be English
But should England be proud of you?
But it is OK for me to sneer.
I dragged myself out of that life, got an education
And through that education, began to see the flaws
The flaws that made this once great nation a laughing stock
The peer pressure we all feel at school to 'don't be a swat'
Otherwise be picked on throughout your school-life!
Do you know what we need to fix this shit?
The simple realisation that knowledge is power
and knowledge has the power to change...
Ignorance is the enemy, not the Muslims!

It would be interesting to have a competition with people from different countries talking about their country as frankly as you have about England.....We have people from all over the world and many of us are dissatisfied with our governments for many reasons. You have given much food for thought.

Excellent! You've given word to the feelings of many I think. The disrespect of our own countries, of our own ancestry, our birthplaces commonly goes unnoticed, but many who do see have too little nerve to invest a word to right this wrong. Good on You for calling it out..a great write!
