I've been living life as a minimalist
and not by choice
but by humanity's brutal nature
I've been kicked, punched and robbed  
on every ill-trodden avenue
 
been told to find god a few times
it's an easy walk once enlightened
but I can't help thinking
if there is a god and he crafted this
then I can do nothing but resent him
and his ego-massaging religions
 
if there is a god
we should swap shoes
just for a little lifetime or two -
 
let me be the reason for man's scriptures
as I part the sea for the Romans
and give virgin Mary a fatal syphilis
just to see
what's written in the good book
 
would this divine interference
be the work of a god?
 
if I was god
I'd brush you all under the carpet
and start again
this time I'd fuck a Celtic pagan
and let him shit Jesus out
in the appropriate bush
