Image for the poem Coquette

Coquette

La coquette, smoldering eyes
and movements that beckon,
on shapely legs and thighs,
sensuality without question.

Supple alabaster skin
intoxicatingly scented,
a dangerous combination
she knowingly created.

Coyness is her ultimate allure,
her plump pouty lips,
your attention captures
as does the sway of her hips.

She exudes sex provocatively,
beauty is not, the magnet,
she possesses this inadvertently
bewitching all who fall in her net.

The vision of her inflames the mind,
castigating all the senses,
halting all the moments in time,
as she passes by without pretenses.

In the end all you get is demure wink
a smile that stops you in your tracks
arresting your breath you don’t even blink
she walks away, waves and never looks back.
