Tarot Doom
The Knight of Swords fights alone
A wall of dark blades surrounds him
Betrayal, treachery, and wicked deceit
It is the tragic destiny he is always dealt
Though he fights on ever so nobly
He knows inside the cause is lost
Sadly, the only cut he did not see coming
The Empress’s dagger beneath the sheets
In the end, he is buried under the cards
Three, Seven, Eight, Nine, Ten of Swords

Glad you like it. Inspired by an actual Tarot reading. Of course I am the Knight of Swords. I was warned about deep betrayal and yet I still didn't see it coming. I now know why Dante depicted the inner circle of hell for betrayers! I went to the reader while doing research for my novel which has a pyschic in it. Thanks for pointing out the glass half full aspect of the 10 of Swords! Confronting my betrayer allowed me to discover an open door and walk through it. I am SO in a better place.
