The Value of a Kiss

Silently she sits
hour after hour
sipping her wine
petting the cat
watching old movies
and waiting
for late
when bed will call
and we'll roll over
for a slim
short kiss
that lasts 9 hours
until the next time
we kiss good-bye again
when she goes to work
and comes home late
and all day long
that mere 4 seconds
has to make life
worth living.
