Creativity in a Jar
If I could gather creativity in a jar
I think I would be a much happier
Conveyer of words
Because I would have an extra
Something or other
To feed the beast
That is the feast I eat
The greatest of all writers have been tortured
By the need to feed the beast
And
Sometimes
The beast defeats us
Because our pens
Are too dull to slay it

I don't think you need the last line of verse one. For me it confuses the metaphor. How can you feed a beast you're eating? Otherwise this is a pretty effective poem about the nature and demands of writing. Critique is JMHO. Thanks for the read.
