Alone
The life in me is not first but second
It happened once before but did stay,
He’s at it again, leading you astray,
The conscious voice inside me beckoned,
As my body expands so does judgment
I’m ostracized, mocked and ridicule
My lover says it’s not his, I’m befooled,
He has deserted me, gone, fled, absent.
Then the lashing of the tongues went still,
I fell, and the life inside me fell too,
It rained inside me, I drowned in the flu
Of loneness, and drifted to where Jill
Survived, we are both happy, far from vain
Mistakes that will never be made again.
It happened once before but did stay,
He’s at it again, leading you astray,
The conscious voice inside me beckoned,
As my body expands so does judgment
I’m ostracized, mocked and ridicule
My lover says it’s not his, I’m befooled,
He has deserted me, gone, fled, absent.
Then the lashing of the tongues went still,
I fell, and the life inside me fell too,
It rained inside me, I drowned in the flu
Of loneness, and drifted to where Jill
Survived, we are both happy, far from vain
Mistakes that will never be made again.
