A tale of two poets

Hey lady,you poet!
writing your lines I see,
I know you're looking at my shoes
I pretend as if I don't care
'cause my lace is untied
and my shoes got dirt
but I See you looking at my shoes

while your eyes are on my shoes
my eyes are on yours
and I think out aloud
who doesn't fancy a pair of hazel eyes
to walk next to
for a long walk in green
with a beer grabbed in hand
on one of these days of summer
just to share random thoughts
in minds of mine and yours

Hey lady,you poet!
your papers look pale
what are you trying to find
through the patches on my denim?
and I wonder
what you got to write much
on that old sheet of yours

while your eyes are on my denim
my eyes are on yours
you got black circles around your eyes
did you not fall asleep for long?
or had a hard day at work?
am I concerned?
I distract my mind

as you write your poem
I made up my own
which I shall forget in my mind
while I walk out of this door
excuse me miss poet
time for me to leave
my train stops here
I wish I could see
how you write the last line of
that incomplete poem of yours
