R.I.P.....
You never know what you have until it’s gone
When that person’s heartbeat plays their final song
From their heart to yours
A feeling
A feeling of something missing
A feeling that you no longer care
Because a loved one is no longer there
Your eyes shed tears of disbelief
Your body stricken with unending grief
Your mind filled with things that were
And visions of things that didn’t occur
Questions you’re asking
Answers are unseen
A world of confusion surrounds your soul
Trying not to let emotions take control
We laugh
We Cry
We Cough
We Miss
Everything seems to fall down as a result of this
What do we do?
Who do we lean on?
At a time when everything seems to be going wrong
We send our prayers
To the man upstairs
Hoping that our loved ones have made it there
No not hoping, knowing that they are up there waiting
Waiting for the day that they see us again
Cousins, parents, grandparents, friends
They are no longer with us but their life will never end
They live on in us making us stronger
Focusing ourselves so that we might last longer
Because when it comes to life and the decisions we make
Anything can happen by the slightest step we take
My soul soldiers are by my side
Guiding my way even though their bodies have died
And even though we can’t see your face
We have faith in knowing you are in a better place
From this day forward I making an oath
Ima do the damn thing for me and you both
When that person’s heartbeat plays their final song
From their heart to yours
A feeling
A feeling of something missing
A feeling that you no longer care
Because a loved one is no longer there
Your eyes shed tears of disbelief
