The Great Sea of Quicksand
Between a rock and hard place in a far away land, I live just before The Great Sea of Quicksand. There is only one way to the other side. Nearly no one has made it though many have tried. What lies ahead past the slow sinking gravel cannot be determined without further travel. The only way over is foremost through me. You must answer my questions, one two and three. Be sure before starting you take time to think. If you don’t answer correctly you are surely to sink. Though If you can answer and answer me right... you begin your journey the future in sight.
Simple as when to find a midnight sun, is finding the answer to question one:
“By and by, with no wings it flies, gone before our very eyes.”
Under the quicksand the great sea shifted stepping stones surface the path hardly lifted. Can you complete this here first rhyme? Well you may begin crossing if in truth you guessed
“time.”
A dangerous hop scotch but I see you managed. Any failure now leaves you permanently damaged.
Will you stand long enough to make another connection between what I speak of in the second question?
“When luxuries start to fast become amenities, it is this which has tendencies to cause new found necessities.”
Before you is a rope you best hurry and climb while you try to decipher the riddle in time for as you get up further the sand only follows right at your ankles ready to swallow.
At the end of the line unable to go higher, you make it barely in time if you’ve shouted
“desire.”
Well well you made it you’re down to the wire from which you must swing across the quicksand thats caught fire. At last Question Three one more little riddle to solve and you’re free:
“When we believe something we have yet to see. To trust with no proof, only one thing it could be.”
Instantly you reveal the final answer flying over the great sea like a fire dancer. You survived The Great Sea of Quicksand my friend. Looks like
“faith”
proves true in the end.
