Nothing Left To Give
Moonlight dances upon his shadow
Half scarred and many open wounds
Empty among the sadness and pain
No one can see his tears in the rain.
Such is air we breathe, yet never see
Or a stranger passing that doesn't stop
A footprint among sand, a broken chain
I'm the child you'll never see again.
The smiles serenade your vicious way
Within every grasp of an empty bottle
He whose blood you spill tries hard to live
But it's over now; I have nothing left to give.
Forgiveness is a song that won't be sung
A record left to rot with our past
Today, I take all that I am and walk from the bad
I'll never look back, so goodbye dad.
Half scarred and many open wounds
Empty among the sadness and pain
No one can see his tears in the rain.
Such is air we breathe, yet never see
Or a stranger passing that doesn't stop
A footprint among sand, a broken chain
I'm the child you'll never see again.
The smiles serenade your vicious way
Within every grasp of an empty bottle
He whose blood you spill tries hard to live
But it's over now; I have nothing left to give.
Forgiveness is a song that won't be sung
A record left to rot with our past
Today, I take all that I am and walk from the bad
I'll never look back, so goodbye dad.
