China White
Breath blooming in front of me,
My cigarette glows.
Wisps ebbing gracefully,
More beautiful than mid-winter snows.
Smoke dancing slowly,
Disappearing into the dark,
Cooing in the blackness,
I hear the song of a Lark.
Piercing the white noise,
That is the confines of my head,
Resting in solitude,
Limbs as heavy as lead.
Burnt lungs,
sweet taste,
Bitter memories,
Replaced,
As I feel the warmth,
Spreading through my veins,
Time now the only thing frozen,
You alleviate my pains.
Blood stained torniquet,
Laid beside me on the floor,
To you my dear China White,
I know I am your whore.
You love me,
Abuse me,
Know when to use me.
You pick me up,
Give me wings,
Let me fall,
Then the pain begins.
I am your slave,
I am your mistress,
It's you who I run to,
When I am in distress.
But right here and now,
In the piercing cold,
You cradle me softly,
Presence comforting and bold.
I must say goodbye,
But not tonight,
So here I sit,
In the cold,
Reveling in your delight.
My cigarette glows.
Wisps ebbing gracefully,
More beautiful than mid-winter snows.
Smoke dancing slowly,
Disappearing into the dark,
Cooing in the blackness,
I hear the song of a Lark.
