Dante's Grave

[font=Trebuchet MS]Walking down a silent road,
approaching the place where all my mistakes were made.
dark silhouettes say their bode,
Inching closer as i fell to the ground and prayed.

Unknown bodies surrounding me.
Half of them grab my ankles, remaing grab my wrists.
Nothing left for me to do but beg and plea.
Finally god can cross me off his lists.

The silhouettes faces grew clear.
Sharp fangs, Maniacal eyes, heads tilted to the side.
Laughter ringing out for all to hear.
Their legs shaking with every stride.

Meeting their destination at the end of a clearing.
Dumping my weak scrawny body into the ground.
Covering me with earth, the pain was searing.
Though I screamed they couldn't hear a sound.

Tired of all of it i decided to let go.
Only to awaken at the sight of a grave.
Reading 'Dante's soul' above sat a crow.
My lifeless body below was never saved.

Although i may still be living physically,
i've been murdered numerous times mentally.
I'm only partially alive,
the rest of me is dead and never again to survive.
