The very wise and gracious, CabCool, an all around marvelous writer, and dapper human being, gave me the idea to make a monogram, like DUP, out of Netherwood.

I think it works so well.

Upon further consideration, I decided to sigilize the monogram and make a forum logo.

In order to make a sigil, one method I use, is:

1. Take a word or phrase of intent.

2.  Break it down to single letters and vowels.

3.  Take every element of the characters and create a magical design.

4.  This can be charged in a number of
ways, including deep meditative states.

II

I was recently looking at the structure of the DUP interface, looking on a deeper level, after having read up on various modern approaches to forum/social media sites, thinking how a programmer
must look at the site like a terminator
robot.

I specifically requested that my engineer look at DUP, a very unique interface, in the evolution of forum/social media sites.

III

They say the message is the medium.

A thought provoking proposition.

I think of the evolution of the medium, this being going from internet 1.0 to internet 2.0.

From Myspace to Facebook.

I believe we are heading in a direction of Private Facebook networks of Myspace accounts.

Well…

At least, that is where I am heading.

I am inspired by the idea of wide ranging applications of forum sites, applied to every industry, bringing folks together, in a way, that was the original intention of Arpanet.

I think the difference between the internet and Arpanet are similar to the differences between Facebook and Myspace, in the sense that they promoted different sorts of communication, perhaps.

I would argue that FB went more  into the narcissism of humanity.

For that reason, in thinking back, I feel the Myspace layout was better for the arts, in the way that Arpanet, was, in certain ways, better for communication.

It was a simplified system of highly self
conscious networks.

There was great passion and profound perspective.

I think that as we grow and technology evolves, more and more, we are going to self reflect and think in retrospect, seeking to return the humanity to the machines.

I think that, similarly, society is heading back in the direction of craft operations, like the original boom of industry, these being cottage industries.

Villages of cottage industries.

This benefits most the artist.

Today, we artists have access to levels of vertical integration, previously impossible.

I do understand that, in order to access these things, we must step outside our comfort zones, which is difficult for me, and perhaps for you, as well.

But the potential…

If they can turn old Detroit factories into condos and small businesses, imagine what we can do as a community of artists.

V

It’s not about money or notoriety, although these things are valid and valuable in promotion of the Literary Renaissance.

Which reminds me…

The idea of stepping out our comfort zones, learning new technologies or participating differently in technology, or having ideas on the application of technology, in furtherance of the writing
and writing culture…

It’s like:

We must become Renaissance Artists
of The Digital Age.

And take it that seriously…

We are up against the ever growing herd based ignorance of the masses.

Seeking to all consume the zeitgeist of our time and age.

People, as a collective, in this modern day and age, have undergone a sort of technological based darkening.

And what were the effects.

Let’s just say that many have lost and are losing their heart and soul.

And this includes the artists, who are like disappearing bee colonies.

The signs are everywhere…

But, all is not lost.

All is never ever lost.

VI

It is going to take each of us to participate in the very saving of our world.

Yes, it’s that serious.

“And how the fuck are we going to do this shit?”

Well, I’m glad you asked…

You must make your art your life and follow your star to the death
