Dear Diary 1st entry

Dear Diary,

He looked my way today.

I thought I would stop breathing.

Why..why did I have to choose someone who is unavailable?

I know I am paying for all those lustful thoughts I  had in the past.

They were in the past.

I have a secret…I got his phone number. I have to wait till mom is asleep, and I am going to call.

Maybe I shouldn’t. What if he laughs at me? What if he thinks I’m too young? What if, what if?

No, I am going to do it. You're only young once, right?

What am I saying? It doesn’t matter. Mom won't allow it. (pouting) Why have these wants and desires just for your parents to say, “No way. You're not ready for a boyfriend.”

I could only wish to get that far.

(Push button phone. Land line. No cell phones yet)

Pushing the buttons with palms sweating and pulse racing.

“Hello,” a woman answered the phone

“Hello, is Andre home?” I asked with a little tremble in my voice

“Oh lord. Andre get your ass out the shower and answer this phone. If this phone rings again for
you, you're paying the bill.”

Did she say he was in the shower???

“Got it. Hello.”

“Hi Andre, Um it’s me Fia.”

“Fia…Fia??? Oh, the girl with the short skirt. Hey”

Omg..Oh…my…god he remembers me.

“Um. Hi. I got your number from Nikki, is that okay?”

“Yeah, it’s cool. But I can’t stay on. I just hopped out of the shower and I’m dripping all over the place. How bout we talk tomorrow night.”

He’s naked and dripping. Okay, play it cool.

“Yea okay. We'll talk tomorrow.”

“By the way. Are you at least 16?”

“Yeah? Why?”

“You look really young. Just want to check. Talk tomorrow, Fia.” Click

He said my name. I need to tell Nikki but shit I can’t.

Diary,
I called Andre, and he just came out of the shower. This is going to be a hard night for me to go to sleep.

I’m nervous. What if he wants to … do stuff. I’m ready to do stuff. I am jumping the gun. He has not broken up with his girlfriend yet. I heard it was going to happen soon.  Its only the second week of school.

He was dripping.  Oh man, I need to get some sleep.

Author's Note
The year was 1989. So you had land lines, beepers and if you had a cell phone,it was as big as your head. lol

So that was a push button phone.
