Gaze

 
a melody plays quietly
and I agree deep within with the sentiments
I've been here before

So, why am I so perplexed?

wondering at the same stumbling blocks
tripwires of faith getting me tangled
problems I've faced before and never conquered

I'm left kicking my ass damn it I did it again
Socrates of knowledge
philosophy of none

my mind reels, and I open doors
and as Nietzsche's said
careful gazing into the abyss
It might just be gazing into you

so with questions posed
Answers are given but at a heavy price
sometimes costing me sanity
as monsters come from the shadows
revealing they've been here the whole time
