Itinerant Climatology

Who sees them pass like this in a low flight.
Van Gogh wrestling with blue paint paste.
Like someone who puts down an elephant's foot.

Frida Kahlo breathing her reflection in the mirror.
This one takes a snake that crawls slowly.
Salvador Dali riding his snails in ecstasy.

He ruffles himself with spiders' paws.
Sylvia Plath left words on the grates of an oven.
Camouflaged in stripes of exhausted Bengal tigers.
Egon Schiele leaving three days after his wife.

The one who sees the bird in calm low flight.
This one knows nothing about the sea or the abyssal fish.
Diane Arbus left torn newspapers on her desk.
