Chandana
After Chandana
Lips like velvet, breath like fire,
We kissed as if the world would expire.
Our tongues danced, a tender fight,
gasping for air, yet holding tight.
Your scent, a drug I still crave,
your warmth, the ghost I couldn’t see.
I ache for the comfort of your touch,
your presence meant so much.
The nights we spent, so close, so near,
Yet now they feel so insincere,
Did I hold you tight, or let you slip?
Did I taste your soul, or just your lips?
Now apart, I recount those fleeting kisses, were they enough?
In my heart, they’re never lost,
but time, it never gave us enough.
