The NAO Amalgamate Inc. chapter 3

Charlie, annoyed by the situation, stormed off into the first bedroom on the left.

I don't know what you all are going to do, but I need to decompress from this fiasco of an agreement,” he said without even looking back at them.

Ellen and Zoe are used to Charlie's moods. They knew he will eventually get out of it once he comes to terms with the situation.

There were three other rooms on the second level. They all followed suit and went to their rooms to unpack.

Charlie liked his room whether he wanted to admit it to them or not. It really was not his style but since they had to write something out of their comfort zone this will have to do.

He looked around the room and there was an adjoining bathroom. He went to see how big it was and noticed someone was in there tidying up.

The woman was dressed in a man's uniform of slate grey and she had her hair tied up in a bun with tendrils cascading the sides of her face. It was very provocative scene of her bending over and straightening out the towels in the wall shelf.

“Excuse me, thank you for doing that but it's ok you don't have to continue.”

Charlie said as nicely as he could hoping that she would turn her face so he can get a good look at her.

She stood straight and when she turned he backed up. She walked straight towards him and his heart started pounding through his chest and a cold sweat appeared above his brow.

She did not stop her movement as she went right through him and disappeared.

That was it. This was not his room. He went straight for his suitcase, opened the door a bit more abruptly than he liked, and yelled,” Zoe!”

The three ladies came out of their rooms at the sound of Charlie's distress.

“What is it?”

“This is your room. I did not sign on to have my room haunted by a maid with no eyeballs. She damn well walked right through me. The only perk is that she didn't leave slime.”

Zoey's eyes lit up as if it was Christmas, and she grabbed her things to run into the room.
“Is she still there?”

Charlie was disgusted and walked upstairs to the room that she had just come out of and slammed the door.

Ellen and Kat just stood there looking at each other. Ellen looked like she was going to pass out, and Kat wasn't sure how to handle that.

“Ellen, are you alright?”

“There is a ghost, and we have to stay here.”

“Can you not romanticize having a ghost where we live for now?” she hoped that was a good incentive for her to calm down.

She just nodded, but she knew that it was not sitting well with her, and at some point this evening, she may have a breakdown.

Kats's mind was racing. You put four different types of writers in a mansion that is inhabited by ghosts. If there is one ghost, there have to be others, but why here and why us? She couldn't help but smile.
