Extreme Beauty

a pool of sunlight on the ocean
far away from shore
glitters as the air in motion
ripples more and more

water molecules caressed by
molecules of air
through which sunlight bounces to my
eyes and everywhere

in the landscape all around me
where mountains reach the shore
the shimmering interplay that I see
makes my spirit soar

into space, into the aether
into the in between
unto a state where I am neither
awake or in a dream

in a place of extreme beauty
and seeing such a sight
relieved that I have done my duty
dissolving in the light

glittering with the air in motion
far away from shore
a pool of light in rippling ocean-
wanting nothing more...
