Ode to the Faded

Behold the shaken mercy and rising misery
Unfold the dark past filled with secret trickery

Sold by emotions, devotions, and unfulfilling savory
Owned by cold, gold, and fate that is silvery

The world's full of unjust, sick lust and worships knavery
so hold on tightly to the choices, inner voices, and aching bravery

Exposed to an acquisitive life everything is fake and glittery
Road to the bliss; a lipless kiss— a distant scenery!

Author's Note
I wrote this poem almost five years ago. Back then, I had less perspective, both as a writer and as a person. Reading it now feels somewhat unsettling to my heart and mind. To me, this poem is like a snapshot of a moment—I can still recall the emotions I felt while writing it. Yet, I find the poem utterly ugly now, and, in a way, I want to leave it that way.
