Dark Horizon
the sun retreats behind the hill
its breath too weak to stay
the sky unravels strand by strand
night consumes the day
the road ahead is black and still
no lantern dares to burn
the wind that once could sing me home
now whispers never turn
a shadow spreads upon the land
its fingers pull me in
no hand to hold no voice to call
no light to rise again
the fields are bare the rivers dry
the stars refuse to shine
the air is thick with unsaid words
that once were almost mine
the past uncoils beneath my feet
its echoes drag me low
the steps i swore would lead me forth
now only backward go
the dark horizon swallows all
no dawn to break its spell
i walk and walk yet find no end
a road that leads to hell
its breath too weak to stay
the sky unravels strand by strand
night consumes the day
the road ahead is black and still
no lantern dares to burn
the wind that once could sing me home
now whispers never turn
a shadow spreads upon the land
its fingers pull me in
no hand to hold no voice to call
no light to rise again
the fields are bare the rivers dry
the stars refuse to shine
the air is thick with unsaid words
that once were almost mine
the past uncoils beneath my feet
its echoes drag me low
the steps i swore would lead me forth
now only backward go
the dark horizon swallows all
no dawn to break its spell
i walk and walk yet find no end
a road that leads to hell
