I know how you feel and see who you are.
You say to get real and that I don't understand,
But I do.
              I see you

You're excited, in love, bored and afraid.
When push comes to shove, you think you may fade.
You love to be loved but feel unworthy;
Like life is playing a joke;
    Too good to leave,
          But too good to believe.


Once you step over the line.
You will get swept into another time.
Afraid to overstep who you can become.
I know how you feel
                              and see who you are.


You are afraid of the change that you know you need
You feel unworthy, like you can't breathe at this speed

You are more attractive than you have been led to believe.
In you is a beauty that you can't perceive.
You say to get real and that I don't understand.

You think that your mind will get you ahead,

The old poet said "to thine own self be true",
Yes, you know it, but your heart needs told too.

Remember the time so long ago,

So give yourself some credit and be your best you.
Your future holds more than your past can undo.
