My Beautiful Cat, Syshin
My little racoon,
my little fox,
but a cat you actually are combined with all these grand qualities
of my favorite animals.
A quiet, shy loner you are always,
whether in darkness or light.
In the light, those circular eyes of yours
are mere slits, showing your matureness and dignity.
But in the darkness, those dark pupils dilate, covering most of the yellow-ness behind them and emphasizing how much of an overly cute pushover you are.
When it becomes night time, your dark fur
makes you practically invisible.
You become part of the night, my favorite part of the day.
While you aren't the type to come readily
if I were to call your name,
you're almost always there,
lingering in the shadows
or lingering in the light
in your beautiful form.
Your beauty exceeds all other cats,
even cats I've had in the past.
That favorable long, black fur.
That skinny, model-like body and face.
Those round, soulful eyes
that are as beautiful to look at
like the moon.
Your personality exceeds all other cats.
Never do I remember a cat as docile as you.
The way I can pick you up without sensing
a controlling, aggression in you.
Only can I sense after a while you being a bit afraid,
with your cute, passive eyes barely pleading, "Help me."
If you're not doing that, you're flexing one of your paws in the cutest manner.
Unlike another cat who I used to consider my best animal friend,
you aren't possessive of me,
beckoning at my every call.
You're gentle,
teaching me every day that true love
isn't a thing that has less boundaries,
but that it's about independence and mystery.
It's about being less needy
and being more calm and chill
just like you.
To have more freedom,
less worry about what people think
or need less constant validation.
True love is what you've shown me more than any other cat.
I love you with all that I have,
all that I am.
With all my heart,
I will never forget about you,
not even after you've become deceased.
You will always be my son,
despite you not being human.
You're the closest I will ever have to a son,
and the closest I will ever want.
You're like an independent toddler.
You hardly bother me,
and I hardly bother you.
Yet we have an unbreakable bond
that will never be shaken.
From dawn to dusk,
every day and night,
you will always be my cat,
and I will always be your owner.
Until our time ends on this earth,
you will forever be mine.
Even though you are a black cat,
you bring upon good luck.
