MINE IS A GEN-Z
Mine is a Gen-Z,
A Gen-Z full of people who are bruised,
Dressed up in new love, but inside all used.
We hurt each other in search of relief,
And peace? Peace is finding someone who is new.
Mine is a Gen-Z,
A Gen-Z that believes in vengeance,
Tangled in some modern curse,
A cycle that we cannot escape.
Love isn't whole, but shattered fragments
That cut deeper with each attempt to heal.
Mine is a Gen-Z,
A Gen-Z that craves love, yet terrified to fall.
“Single, but happy, we say; still, our bodies say NO!”
The inside yearns for satisfaction,
Yet our outside, lost with exploration,
Fake is a drug we choose for our souls
We are caught in a loop we can’t break free from
Mine is a Gen-Z,
A Gen-Z that lies and deceives,
Gives to receive,
Posts about joy but only knows pain,
And a generation that uses and dumps.
Mine is a Gen-Z,
A Gen-Z that writes love stories with broken pens,
Starting all over again and again.
We take it all, but have nothing to give,
We want the chase but not the stay,
We run when love demands us to pay,
Hoping for the next heart to shatter,
Just to feel something real
To feel something in a world gone numb.
