Now, about those highways
I like to remember things my own way. How I remembered them, not necessarily the way they happened. —David Lynch, Lost Highway
We all have them don't we?
Most of us see them
as routes to destinations,
lines guiding us to private
paradises and cramming in
what we can on a long drive.
This is where i'm home
headlights and yellow lines,
polaroids hanging off old
monuments, memories
tacked on the trunks of
tall trees, oral stories
half finished dripping
off somebody's lips.
So do me a favour?
get lost once in a while
leave a little room for
something to happen,
the world doesn't
always need to
understand it.
