That Didn't Work

I am feeling the need to reevaluate
After I was told my behaviours unattractive,
So I'm trying to work out,
Which behaviours are seductive.

Being friendly, there for you,
Reassuring when you cry?
There when you need me,
Never asking why?
Nope, that didn't work.

Being funny, making you laugh,
Cracking the worst jokes?
Sarcastic comments, private jokes,
Laughing so hard you thought your ribs broke?
Nope, that didn't work.

Trying to charm you, talking you up,
Defending you with no second thought.
Needing you to approve,
Taking in every life lesson you taught?
Nope, that didn't work.

Being good looking,
Just in a hopeless way,
Endearing, adoring,
Talking every day?
Nope, that didn't work.

So, I'm sorry if my behaviour offends,
Guess this is what goes wrong when you fall for friends,
My unattractive behaviour may be what you think it is,
But to me, it's the way I deal with life's unfairness.
