Frequencies
I sought you briefly, a fleeting beacon,
to confirm my steps, my chosen path.
Will I ever see you again? I truly don’t know.
Are we tuned to the same frequency,
or have you merely stumbled upon my station,
a ghost caught in the hum of static?
I dug up your skeletons,
just so I could drink tea with them,
to make sense of the echoes they leave behind.
You fear the dark, but I find solace
where shadows weave their quiet embrace.
It was a Friday night—
a moment of resolve,
when I vowed to no longer dance
in spaces that siphon my vibrations.
I am preserving my energy,
a guardian of my own spark,
because I know—I know—I am on to something.
Once, I wrote a poem about two
galaxies,
destined to collide,
their union a tempest,
destroying all that was
only to birth something new.
Just know—
you never broke my heart.
That night, clarity dawned:
the time was never ours to claim.
You and I, we have work to do,
a long road yet to walk.
My only advice—
befriend your shadows.
Remember, the dark isn’t so terrible.
Sit with it long enough,
and you’ll find the light within.
to confirm my steps, my chosen path.
