MAY I LICK IT TOO?
IT
was a cold day
as I sat in a mall
food court enjoying
licking and savoring
my 3 scoops of ice cream.
AT
a table directly across
from me I could see
starring eyes gazing at me.
CARRIED
away in licking my ice cream cone;
I didn't notice the gazer was
soon standing before me.
Our eyes met...I heard the words
from the stranger, "May I have a lick too?"
I
motioned for the stranger to take a seat.
The subject of licking an ice cream cone
slowly drifted into other kinds of licking.
Now "May I lick it?" took on new meaning.
