Broken Pieces ...

Trapped in a loop, no way to escape,
Memories haunt me, they won’t fade away.
See your face in the corners of my mind,
Everywhere I turn, I’m running out of time.

Heartbreak’s easier with someone new,
But I’m left holding on to the ghost of you.

Sometimes it’s better to sweep the broken pieces,
Than picking them up and cutting your fingers.
Trying to glue back what’s already gone,
Some cracks are meant to stay undone.

Cry on my shoulder, then leave me to drown,
You walked away, now I’m stuck on this ground.
Thanks for leaving, hope you’re doing fine,
Had something to run to—wish it was mine.

You blamed me for a dance you wouldn’t take,
I was in love with someone who was fake.

Sometimes it’s better to sweep the broken pieces,
Than picking them up and cutting your fingers.
Trying to glue back what’s already gone,
Some cracks are meant to stay undone.

Loving you was like touching the sun,
Burnt my fingers, one by one.
I should’ve known you were trouble from the start,
But you carved your name right into my heart.
Why’d you follow me just to walk away?
Left me in ruins, with nothing to say.

Sometimes it’s better to sweep the broken pieces,
Than picking them up and cutting your fingers.
Trying to glue back what’s already gone,
Some cracks are meant to stay undone.

Too many promises, all turned to lies,
I see the truth now through tear-stained eyes.
I’ll sweep the floor and let it all go,
These broken pieces are better left alone.
