Temptations of John and Ruth #2

John and Ruth continued....

As John looked at Ruth, he was reminded of the scriptural comparisons between the human body and a temple. Looking at Ruth, temple seemed appropriate. A lifetime had been spent in building her temple. Her parents’ love and support, her education, her hard work and skills. All these influences had been there for the building of her life. He had witnessed her growth from a college freshman to a graduate with honors and now a young wife and mother, and a leader in her religious community.

John was afraid to move. Afraid to speak. He looked down at Ruth’s form in awe of creation. He could see the arch of her back as she leaned into him. Her spinal column was pronounced in the dim light, a straight row of protruding disks placed with mathematical precision. Below that he could see the shape of her buttocks spread slightly from her kneeling. He saw the blonde curls cascading over her shoulders as he’d seen them when she was his student. He felt her breath. He was overwhelmed by her beauty when he felt the sudden sensation of warmth and realized that her lips now covered him.
