Time

Time is endless  
The ticking sound is so faint    
I can barely hear it  
I'm young and naive  
Surrounded by family and friends  
I'm having fun  
And enjoying life  
Taking for granted the little things  
Actually everything    
Time passes by so slowly  
   
Time is still in the distance  
But I'm distracted  
I'm married with my own family now  
Working hard to provide  
Enjoying the finer things in life  
Fun activities and vacations  
Even though time is moving faster  
The ticking sounds louder  
But I ignore the inevitable    
The fate the sands of time control    
   
Seems like yesterday when time existed    
The world moves way too fast  
I'm old and alone  
My friends and family have passed away    
And my son has his own life now  
The ticking sound is deafening  
My heartbeat is slowing down    
As I struggle to keep up with time  
Time has passed  
So have I
