Farewell

Acting like I need to mend.
Implying that I'm broken.
Tells a weakness in your head.
As insults often spoken.

Your ignorance to see.
Is easy to believe.
Your good intentions may be,
The reason I grit my teeth.

Your tactics of goodwill.
Manipulative speech.
Your practiced fictitious guilt.
Is just not worth the grief.

It's time for me to leave.
The only contrition I feel.
Is for overwhelming relief.
But you I can never tell.

Silence says my farewell.
A R.M.
