Memories
You left me so quick yet so long ago
My heart still aches without you by me
You didn’t have to stoop so low
You held our lock and I held our key
We were supposed to live happily ever after
Forever, side by side and hand in hand
Every single day we shared the most beautiful laughter
I was most wrong when I thought we could withstand
My heart aches to this day
You know how hard it breaks
Our love wasn’t a game; there was no need to play
I held all I had on the stakes
All I have now is hopeless memories
You’re gone with the current of the wind
I have no pictures, no joy or accessories
The light of my life has so greatly dimmed
My heart still aches without you by me
You didn’t have to stoop so low
You held our lock and I held our key
We were supposed to live happily ever after
Forever, side by side and hand in hand
Every single day we shared the most beautiful laughter
I was most wrong when I thought we could withstand
My heart aches to this day
You know how hard it breaks
Our love wasn’t a game; there was no need to play
I held all I had on the stakes
All I have now is hopeless memories
You’re gone with the current of the wind
I have no pictures, no joy or accessories
The light of my life has so greatly dimmed
