Mer*Ka*Ba
Ka: The “Ka” represents the vital essence, similar to life force or spiritual double. It is essentially the energy or life force that sustains a person, both in life and after death. The Ka was thought to be created at birth and was essential for life. In the afterlife, the Ka needed sustenance, which is why Egyptians placed offerings of food and drink in tombs.
2. Ba: The “Ba” represents personality, individuality, or the spiritual characteristics that make each person unique. Often depicted as a bird with a human head, the Ba was believed to travel between the physical and spiritual worlds. It could visit loved ones and places that had significance to the deceased and return to the body at night.
Together, Ka and Ba formed an individual’s complete soul
