Image for the poem windswept

windswept

I feel the windswept sorrow that lingers
smiling through the memories I tarry
with a look back, I sigh
heavy with regret, I lament

lost in the moment
my sacred heart calls to you where you are
my soul's redemption
a calling, like touching God
is to know you

credible faith peers into my sadness
you take me by hand and lead me through
past the memories that haunt
forgotten hurts no longer bite

deeply in love with you dearest soul
the dark rose inside me
you chased out the night
and held me tight

safe in your arms I sigh
when you're here with me
the internal stomr quiets
my madness bane retreat
and I can see tomorrow on the horizon

it looks bright, with you in my life
