Image for the poem You say you won’t be like Daddy

You say you won’t be like Daddy

So you say you won’t be like daddy

Mirror turns I look like him
I cursed him every day

When he went away
I love him to this day

But I’m too much like him
In the bottom of a bottle

That’s where we connect

Swimming in my sins
Swimming in red wine

I don’t want to be like him
And I wake up staring at me

Have to break this cycle
For I don’t want to pass this onto

My little champion he looks like me but
I don’t want him to be anything like me

Especially in the Red swirl
Said I’d never be like daddy

I wake up I am him
