Never found it hard to connect the dots
Chasing dreams in a game of chance
I’m a realist when it comes to limitations
Sure it gets me off to make words dance
While venting all life’s many frustrations
Wisdom’s another word for commonsense
That’s been accumulating over the years
So many seasons spent sitting on the fence
Learning that nothing truly is as it appears

Late night musing. Every dream has to deal with reality at some point. Life is often a game of chance. Everyone at one point in time will be asked to gamble on a dream. Appreciate you.

Dear D,
“Wisdom’s another word for commonsense” I love that phrase. Since I have neither I’m attracted to the idea of it. This write made me think nostalgically, how life has so many twists and turns and sticking it out can net so many wonderful gains. I enjoyed your lovely poem and the stellar closing line. H🌷

What a great piece and stunning last line. I'm a dreamer at heart, but fortunately I have a strong realistic side. I learned the hard way that dreams rarely come true. And still I keep dreaming...
