Image for the poem I Can’t Remember

I Can’t Remember

I Can’t remember

Can’t remember
Walk in a room what for
I don’t know as the day begins anew

Can’t remember when I started to forget
Cobwebs on my brain
Try to brush them off

I can’t remember

Say to myself check it out
Get on my phone to look it up
Who am I why am I here

Can’t remember when
And I’ve got cobwebs on the cranium

I can’t remember when I
Started to forget

Blank pages in my mind
Sit and stew but the key is simple

Think about something else
Distract your head figure it out

Can’t remember when I started to forget
Don’t coo coo me baby
Ill have my legs broken

What do you do when your blue eyes go blank
Ghosts behind pupils
Grey stare thousand long

Memories stored and packed tight
Spill out down the drain of my thoughts

Can’t remember I started to forget
Son walks in and I say park the car
As I throw him the keys

Vicious affliction
Stealing memories
I remember when I started to get
Forgot what I was going to say

Can’t remember when I didn’t forget
Twisted circles in my mind

Can remember the good times
They don’t rust away

Seared in my memory
Like a nice piece of steak
Remember when I didn’t forget
