If only I could soar - a lovely coop with Shilohverse

This is a lovely coop, if I may say so.

Shilohverse wrote the poem/lyrics and posted them on the 24th of August 2024.
I asked for her permission to take the poem with me on a 7 week trek in our tent, so I could get ideas for a song. And I got that permission. Needless to say I was very glad.
A couple of days after our return, I uploaded the draft to Shilohverse, and shortly after that this version.

If Only I Could Soar II
If only I could soar,
away from the shadows I've cast,
lifted by winds that whisper of peace,
far from the echoes of my past.
If only I could rise,
to dance with the stars in their gleam,
carving a path through the endless skies,
leaving behind every broken dream.
Lost in the rush of the breeze,
Weightless and free, untethered by pain,
No longer bound by memories' chains,
I’d never descend to earth again.
If only I could fly,
Instead of carrying these scars,
I’d drift through the heavens, untouched and wild,
No longer haunted by who we are.
To soar so high, above everything,
I’d find solace in the endless blue,
Where heartache fades and hope takes wing,
If only I could fly—if only it were true.

Within 24 hours on a Dutch guitarists forum there were 750 listens.
The first day of January showed us a 3600 listens.
Way to go Shiloverse!!!
And not your regular fast swiping people with the attention span of a mosquito.
All interested colleagues, more often than not professionals.
I hope for the same measure of enthusiasm on DUP.

Wow, Gus and Shilo
This is an absolutely stunning poem! To take flight and soar across the sky is the epitome of freedom and lightness. What a relief to leave all that burdens you behind. And looking at things from a different perspective helps you to see and understand the whole picture.

With her OK I put it to music, and this is the result.
Amount of listens in the Netherlands approximately 4.200, so we’re not the only ones who were taken by Shilo’s work.
