A Day with No Words(Aidan)
A day with no words (Aidan)
Bright piece of sunshine
Lights up my life
Lonely family in the playground
Seems a little bit off
Grunts and stares
Comments and snickers
Go all around
Hand gestures and body language
Communicates what he wants
If he wants to speak
Hand him a tablet
I want French fries comes out
As people whisper and glare
Welcome to the world my family lives
From sunup to sundown
Not a word is spoken
But we’re talking
He looks like any boy
You wouldn’t know it
Has autism but when he shows it
Feels like we’re in a circus
Every eye on us
He pushes the button
To tell me what he thinks
Or for when he’s hungry
They label non verbal
But he talks to me in beautiful ways
Write a childrens book
To tell his story
Bright piece of sunshine
Lights up my life
Lonely family in the playground
Seems a little bit off
Grunts and stares
Comments and snickers
