Helianthus

You could be my sun
And I’m your flower
Sunflower

I reflect your moves
Following your tracks
Across the sky
From east to west
Looking for your warmth
Seeking your light
To shower my leaves
To brighten me with life

And when you’ve set
Gone in twilight’s embrace
I’ll turn back to east
While you’re asleep
So you’ll find me when you rise
Welcoming your shine
Once again
Longing for your honeyed glow

I’m stuck
In a heliotropic cycle
With you
