a place to rest
sadness desires also a place to rest
an oasis of wildflowers and green
blue skies and gentle rain
resting in the field the sunshine
doesn't cast shadows
on the long days that drain
she cavorts where the shaded grief
remembers her name
without overwhelming
and the sunflowers can grow
waving on the winds
producing seeds with the poppies
rolling hills sigh because nature provides
relief to a weary soul
rising early in the morn to catch the mist
and converse with wisdom
the man from which all grows
there is no gate to lock in or out
just gentle understanding
and long conversations
memories are welcome visitors
that mix with new ideas
meeting at this juncture
pneuma always will
subtle teacher of life not always understood
sighs not goodbye but be well
