Sorrow Ascendent Canto I
In distant realms, where silence reigns
Beyond the stars, beyond the chains
There weeps an angel draped in night
A shroud of sorrow, dimming light
Her wings, once bright with heaven's glow
Now fold beneath a weight they know
Each tear she sheds, a frozen stream
Falling through an endless dream
She wanders skies where none may tread
Amongst the lost, the lingering dead
The stars above, they flicker weak
Their light, a language she cannot speak
Her cry, a song of distant woe
Through hollow winds where shadows grow
She mourns for worlds now gone to dust
For life that crumbles, turned to rust
Oh sorrow, sweet and deep as night
You carve the soul with endless flight
Her voice, a whisper in the dark
A fading echo, a dying spark
Yet still she drifts through empty space
With tears that trace the fallen’s face
She seeks no rest, nor seeks the dawn
For in her heart, all hope is gone
Her eyes behold the wreck of time
The crumbling spheres, the loss divine
She weeps for life that fades away
For suns that drown in endless gray
The heavens shudder at her weep
As silence crawls through starlit deep
The firmament, in muted grief
Bows low beneath her fallen leaf
And still she moves, through cold and void
Her wings are broken, her heart destroyed
An angel once, but now no more
A shadow of what was before
O sorrow ascendent, rise and fall
Through endless night, heed the call
The weeping angel’s tears shall flow
Until the end that none shall know
In cosmic halls where echoes sing
The angel waits with broken wing
For sorrow rules, and joy is spent
In realms where even light laments
Beyond the stars, beyond the chains
There weeps an angel draped in night
A shroud of sorrow, dimming light
Her wings, once bright with heaven's glow
Now fold beneath a weight they know
Each tear she sheds, a frozen stream
Falling through an endless dream
She wanders skies where none may tread
Amongst the lost, the lingering dead
The stars above, they flicker weak
Their light, a language she cannot speak
Her cry, a song of distant woe
Through hollow winds where shadows grow
She mourns for worlds now gone to dust
