you speak in absolute
as if you have all the answers
looking at me
like I should just get out the way
but before you take the mantle
you have some hands to shake
some heros to thank
and yeah
a whole lot of blood, sweat, and pain

don't you dare disrespect the OGs
because they set the way
with fire and rage
mine is caged
and if you keep up your shit
I'll show you something from the past

maybe it's how we all eventually feel
but when I was younger
I was building from the ground up
being knocked down along the way
seems to be easier these days
how that hustle is a bit lazier
becoming more conceded
makes me roll my eye
at such foolishness

I'm sure I could leave
and it wouldn't even matter
making way for a new
less efficient generation
but what would be the fun in that?
